Welcome to the new website for my paintings. I appreciate you taking the time to drop by and have a look at my latest work.

During the later part of 2018 I really started to think about my artwork and the direction it was going in. Over the last couple of years I had been solely focused on building the Learn To Paint Academy

As the year came to a close I started to explore new directions with my artwork. I decided that 2019 was the year I was going to really push my own art career in conjunction with the teaching I do helping new artists.

I wanted to free up my painting.

It occurred to me that painting should be an extension of my personality. A expression of who I am and what makes me tick. When I looked at the paintings I had been doing, whilst I loved them, they were not truly representing me in the way I desired.

So I started to paint looser with bigger bolder brushwork. I added more colour, and I simplified details down into more abstract shapes that where representative of the subject rather than being so literal.

The paintings that began to emerge excited me.

I found a renewed passion for and love for painting. Not that it had ever gone, however my focus and energy was renewed.

The evolving direction of my work is exciting and while I have still not reached a point where I am truly satisfied, I do feel I am now on a better track with my painting. Late 2018 I believe has been a breakthrough in my work.

So I decided it was time to update and renew the website.
