This is a view of Noosa River from the car park at the River Mouth. In the distance, you can see Noosaville.

I was taking a group for a Sketchbook Workshop earlier in the year painting outdoors.

Our last location was here at the river mouth car park. I was busy sketching the view in my sketchbook in gouache when out of nowhere it started rain. Rain is not good for gouahce :)

So we quickly packed up and scurried back to my studio.

While the students were all busy working on their sketches I decided to try the same scene as a larger oil painting. My only reference was to be the sketch I had made earlier.

This was the result a few hours later.
